Happiness in Loneliness

Once there lived an ant named Bob. He was a hard-working guy who always takes a good care of himself. He does all his work by himself. He does not rely on anyone for his purpose. He was happy by himself. But he always had a feeling that there was no one for him to talk and share his feelings. Though he was happy, he was not satisfied because he was all alone.

Since the hibernation starts from winter, Bob found himself a warm place to stay and collected food to feed himself during the hibernation. He collected so much food, that was more than enough for at least 3 ants during the hibernation period. Bob thought "I would be happy if I had someone to share my food and spend my time with, but I got no one to share my food nor my feelings. I have to spend my hibernation period all alone like every year." It made him sad but he accepted it because he goes through this every year.

One day, before the hibernation period starts, Bob saw another ant while having a walk. That ant was standing alone worried. Bob asked the ant "What's the problem?" The ant replied "It's none your business". Bob told "If you have any problem you can share it with me, if I can I will help". That ant said "I am Carp. I am not prepared for the hibernation. I did not find any warm place to stay nor collected food for winter. I am afraid that I would die in the cold." Bob asked "Why? Don't you have a family or friends?" Carp replied "I have, but I fought with them and came out from my place. Its been two days already, still I couldn't find a warm place for me to stay." Bob who was alone in his whole life became happy when he heard that Carp was also alone like him. Bob was happy not because Carp was worried but because he got someone to stay with. Soon Bob told Carp "You can stay with me if you want. I found a warm place to stay and have enough food for both of us during hibernation." Carp said "I don't want to be a burden, but please let me stay until winter." Bob was overjoyed and said "Sure! sure! come let's go". They both went to Bob's place.

The winter started and the hibernation period also started. Bob was happy thinking that he was not alone anymore. During this period Bob and Carp became good friends, they even started to share their personal stories. Everyday they played games and talked for hours. For the first time in Bob's life, he was over-excited and was eager to do things with Carp. 

The winter passed and the hibernation period came to an end and they were  free to travel from one place to another. Once the normal routine started, only Bob works for both of them. Bob collects food everyday to feed himself and Carp, also he builds a place for them to live for time being. At first Bob was eager to help and did all the work by himself. But after some days he thought to himself "Why should I do all the work. Carp lives with me, so he should also work to eat and live. I am going to make things clear to Carp." Bob went to Carp and said "Carp, I think we should work in alternative days so that I can also take rest. Today you should get some food and Tomorrow I will go or we can work together everyday to get food. We also should work together when we build home." Carp quietly heard everything said by Bob and replied "Sorry Bob, I think it's time for me to leave. My family would be worried and searching for me." Bob asked "Why? It's already two months past winter. You told me that you will leave after winter, but why you're leaving now. If it's about me telling you to work then please don't leave. I am just trying to explain that we must share our work so that we both can be satisfied." Carp replied "No Bob its not about the work, I am really worried about my family." Bob cried and said "Please Carp, let me explain..." Carp didn't give any time for Bob to speak and said "I had my best days with you. You're like my brother now. I'll visit you now and then, I'll leave now Bob." and Carp left.

Bob cried, not because Carp left but because he became alone again. He was happy during the hibernation period and two months after hibernation. But now everything came to an end. "When I was alone by myself, even though I was happy I just wanted someone to talk with. I should have stayed like that. From the start I should not have took Carp with me to stay. Now that he left, it only makes me more sad than before. I was selfish and was happy when Carp fought with his family and became alone like me, now I realized my karma. I should not make this mistake ever again." Bob thought to himself.

Moral: At some point of life you'll be left all alone. you'll have no one to rely on, you can't depend on anyone. You'll feel like you're left alone in the ocean. For that not to happen, you must take care of yourself and be prepared for every situation. You don't have to share your feelings with others to make you feel relaxed, you can talk to yourself in a mirror so that you can become strong. 

Being alone is better than being with someone who make you feel alone.
